National Wedding Show report

Jenny Packham Damask
Well I had a fab day at the National Wedding Show, Olympia on Sunday.  There was a fantastic array of suppliers with tons of inspiration. I took my Mum along for the company (didn’t think the Husband could bear a whole day of weddings!) and she had a fantastic time getting really into the swing of things pointing out ideas and new trends. She is already planning next year’s trip – London or Birmingham? With over 250 exhibitors we had great plans to go round twice to ensure we covered everything. We were slightly distracted by the fab shows and demos so didn’t quite make the second round trip!! The catwalk show was fantastic with a great choice for everyone. The lace trend does seem to be continuing with some stunning dresses on show, my absolute favourite being the Damask by Jenny Packham @ White Mischief Bridal. I seem to be saying it too much lately but I am in love with this dress!! We managed to see one of the Bridal Coaching talks from Michele Paradise and one of the How to Look Good Make Over shows with Caryn Franklin which were great, really inspiring. 2 days next year I think!!

I have picked my favourite exhibitors and listed them below. Quite a hard choice as there was sooo much on offer but the companies listed below really caught my eye so hopefully they will you too…..
FLOWERS – Jens Jakobsen – A stunning display that caught my eye. I loved the vintage feel of the flowers chosen which fitted in with this year’s show theme.  Jens Jakobsen floral construction combines elements of celebration, happiness and sophistication to realise a personal energetic and chic design.
BOUQUETS – Keepsake Bouquets are stunning! Amy designs hand crafted unique wedding bouquets using gems and jewellery made to order. Your own special jewellery can be included to add a personal touch.
DRESSES – The Pocket Library has an exclusive collection of original vintage couture and a collection of bridal gowns. Rebecca obviously has such attention to detail and has an eye for matching a figure to an era.
ACCESSORIES – Donna Crain – what a fab display! Donna Crain has a collection of vintage bespoke jewellery and headdresses which each piece being individually unique and handmade in Surrey.
VENUE – This is a slightly alternative pick and not really a venue but an amazing idea. Strawberry Hills hire beautiful bell tents to create your very own glamping experience. A bridal tent with bunting, sheepskins and bubbly – amazing! Create your own camping village for venues without accommodation.
GOODIES - Candy Camper stocks all your favourite nostalgic confectionery - from Sherbet Pips, Pear Drops and Rhubarb & Custards to Love Hearts, Double Dips and Sherbet Fountains. Candy Camper is the perfect addition to wedding – what a great alternative to favours or even dessert! STATIONERY – Intricate Creations specialises in contemporary, bespoke, laser-cut wedding stationery and had the most beautiful selection of designs. I especially adore their Love Bird collection which showcased their whole range from invited to table plans.
SHOES – Rachel Simpson bridal and occasion shoes combine vintage inspiration and unique attention to detail. It’s often hard to find the perfect shoes to go with THE perfect dress (especially if you do want something different from the norm) but ladies here is the answer.  I could have brought 10 pairs!
CAKE – Anges de Sucre provide a alternative to the traditional wedding cake using delicious macaroons! They can create some bespoke macron magic and create a custom-made macaroon tower for the wedding cake, centre pieces or a dessert buffet as well as making pretty little favours. Yum!!!
